Roslyn is a Life-Centered Education (LCE) instructor at the American International School of Jeddah, who loves to create authentic learning experiences for her students with intensive learning needs. Her students learn about life in their “DORM” (D-eveloping O-pportunities for R-eal-world M-astery), an on-campus apartment, complete with a living room, office, dining room, bedroom, bathroom and kitchen!

Whether her students are building shelves, folding blankets, delivering salads, baking cookies, or scrubbing out carpet stains, Roslyn’s instruction includes a fun and functional mix of skills practice in academics, socialization, executive functioning, and self-determination – with an overarching focus on achieving independence.


Roslyn has 21 years of educational experience in locales including Kazakhstan, South Korea, Peru, UAE, and Saudi. She is a former elementary teacher, PYP Curriculum Coordinator, and is US licensed in Elementary Education and Special Education (Newborn-Grade 12).
She earned a B.A. in Psychology from Oklahoma State University, an M.S.Ed. in Special Education from Saint Joseph’s University (Pennsylvania), and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Special Education through the University of Northern Colorado. Her research areas include secondary and postsecondary transition services, self-determination, and Universal Design for Learning.
